The Role
We are working with a growing boutique Lloyd’s broker in London seeking an experienced Marine Cargo Broker to join their expanding marine team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated broker to take ownership of a varied international cargo portfolio and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Broking and placement of marine cargo risks into the Lloyd’s and company markets
- Managing and developing an existing portfolio of international clients
- Producing market presentations, slips and underwriting submissions
- Negotiating terms and conditions with underwriters
- Supporting new business development opportunities
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, underwriters and overseas correspondents
- Ensuring compliance with FCA and Lloyd’s regulatory requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience broking marine cargo risks
- Strong understanding of the Lloyd’s market
- Proven ability to negotiate and place risks effectively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

The Role You will be responsible for underwriting new business and renewals in line with agreed binder parameters, primarily within the construction and contracting sector. The position offers exposure to a broad range of liability and specialty covers and the opportunity to build strong broker relationships across the UK.
