The Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the expense, banking and financial operations of the UK Life Branch, as well as its UK service and holding entities. You will take ownership of critical financial processes, drive meaningful operational improvements, and act as a trusted partner to senior leadership across the UK organisation and the wider Group.

As a key member of the Finance function, you will provide insight and lead process improvements that support effective decision?making. You will also serve as an important bridge between the UK service company and the wider Group insurance entities, ensuring seamless communication, alignment and collaboration across business units.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the expense and banking functions across the UK Branch, UK service and holding company entities, ensuring excellence in accounting, planning, budgeting and financial operations. Ensure transactions are executed accurately, consistently and in line with control expectations, including appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Act as a trusted financial adviser to senior management, providing clear analysis, insightful recommendations and constructive challenge where required.
  • Own the improvement and automation of processes to ensure continuous efficiency and operational enhancement.
  • Lead the timely and accurate production of internal expense reporting.
  • Conduct regular reviews of process documentation and policies to ensure ongoing accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead intercompany recharging for the UK Branch and UK service company, including invoicing, intercompany reconciliations and relationship management.
  • Deliver expense processes end?to?end, including annual expense planning, Board and management reporting, shared service budget collation and Group service provider recharges.
  • Manage the liquidity of UK statutory entities to ensure cash and collateral obligations are consistently met, including payroll funding processes.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations in compliance with internal control and approval frameworks.
  • Oversee all banking transactions and ensure the integrity of bank?related ledger postings.
  • Manage the employee expense policy and reimbursement services, including the company credit card scheme.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the implementation and ongoing use of the Purchase Order tool in the UK.
  • Support tax processes and compliance requirements where required.
  • Support statutory audit processes relating to expense and treasury topics across UK entities, ensuring smooth audit delivery and strong control evidence.
  • Build strong relationships across the wider Group to share knowledge, adopt best?practice tools and leverage existing technologies.
  • Contribute actively to Group?wide initiatives and ensure UK entities remain aligned with global standards and expectations.

Qualifications Required

  • Part?qualified or newly qualified CA, ACA or ACCA

Experience

  • Experience in purchase ledger management and treasury operations is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with expense forecasting and cost?allocation methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience within financial services or insurance is desirable and will support navigation of the regulatory and operational environment.
