Part-Time Human Resources Business Partner (Succession to Head of HR)
Location: London / Hybrid (2–3 days per week)
Salary: Competitive + benefits

About the Company
Our client is a boutique insurance firm who has a close-knit, collaborative culture and is entering an exciting phase of strategic growth.
As part of its long-term succession planning, the business is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Business Partner to work alongside the current Head of HR — with a clear pathway to transition into that leadership role within the next 12–24 months.
This position is ideal for an HR professional seeking a flexible part-time role that combines hands-on responsibility with strategic progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of HR, you will take ownership of day-to-day HR operations while contributing to longer-term people initiatives and organisational development. You will also have oversight of payroll and certain aspects of office management, ensuring the smooth running of key business functions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle — recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance, and offboarding.
  • Administer payroll processes in conjunction with finance, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain HR systems and personnel records in line with data protection standards.
  • Review, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee aspects of office management, including facilities coordination, supplier relationships, and health & safety compliance.
  • Provide general administrative support to leadership as needed.
  • Work closely with the Head of HR to ensure a smooth and effective leadership transition.

About You
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded HR generalist who enjoys working in a hands-on, multi-faceted role within a smaller, people-focused organisation.
Requirements:

  • 5–7 years’ experience across the HR spectrum, ideally within financial or professional services.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and best practice.
  • Experience managing or processing payroll (directly or via third-party provider).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR operations alongside broader office management duties.

What’s on Offer

  • Part-time position (3 days per week or flexible hours).
  • Defined succession plan to Head of HR.

If you are an experienced HR professional looking for a flexible leadership role with genuine long-term potential, we would love to hear from you.
