We are working with a highly respected global research institute to appoint a Research Analyst to support a flagship international report on retirement security and pension systems. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to high-impact research that shapes global thinking on retirement income, pension design, and long-term financial security.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior researchers and subject-matter experts to expand existing cross-country analysis, incorporate new jurisdictions, and deepen insights into retirement income conversion mechanisms. This position is well suited to a research professional with strong quantitative and qualitative skills and a genuine interest in public policy, pensions, and global financial systems.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Conducting in-depth research into international retirement and pension systems, including regulatory frameworks and plan design
  • Collecting, validating, and analysing quantitative data from OECD, national statistics offices, and regulatory sources
  • Supporting qualitative research through stakeholder interviews with regulators, policymakers, and pension experts
  • Evaluating pension policy innovations such as automatic enrolment, collective DC arrangements, and income drawdown solutions
  • Producing comparative analysis assessing adequacy, sustainability, and equity across retirement systems
  • Drafting structured country profiles covering pension architecture, metrics, and reform developments
  • Translating complex financial and demographic data into clear insights for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Creating charts, visuals, and infographics to support published research outputs
  • Maintaining strong research documentation and data management standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, Social Policy, or a related discipline
  • Prior experience in research, policy analysis, consulting, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong experience combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative policy research
  • Knowledge of pension systems, retirement income structures, and demographic trends
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as R, Stata, or Python, with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, QGIS) beneficial
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
  • Highly organised, intellectually curious, and comfortable working independently
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across disciplines and cultures
