ESG Analytics Lead, Investment Management

The Role:

 

Bruin have partnered with a leading Asset Manager who is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join as the ESG Data & Analytics Lead. This pivotal role involves spearheading the day-to-day operations to bolster our client’s sustainable investment endeavours, offering a distinctive chance to contribute to an expanding global sustainable investment hub.

 

The ideal candidate need not have ESG experience – the business are very well equipped in this area and have the capacity to teach this. However, technical knowledge and applied experience is a key requirement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Source and map ESG data to fortify sustainable investment analytics for regulatory and client reporting.
  • Utilize tools such as Python, Power BI, and Tableau for comprehensive analysis and visualisation of ESG data, ensuring timely delivery in line with reporting requirements.
  • Stay abreast of ESG regulations, particularly in the EU (SFDR, CSRD, etc.), UK, and emerging standards (e.g., IFRS ISSB).
  • Contribute to enhancing and automating ESG data processes, including evaluating external data partnerships.
  • Serve as the central liaison for ESG data aggregation, collaborating with various departments to establish and implement a centralized repository of crucial data.
  • Oversee the maintenance of systems and databases to ensure ESG data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide guidance to business units on effective utilization of ESG data for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate on ESG data projects with internal stakeholders, including investment teams, risk management, and client services.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation techniques.
  • Prior experience with ESG data providers like MSCI, Sustainalytics, Bloomberg, etc.
  • Experience in reporting in compliance with UK and EU regulations, including SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and TCFD.

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience working with data and analytics.
