Job Title: Vice President – Risk Management

Location: Luxembourg

Client Overview:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client, a global leader in alternative asset management. The client, known for their commitment to creating positive economic impact and long-term value, manages a diverse portfolio of $1 trillion in assets across various sectors worldwide.

Job Responsibilities:

As a senior member of the International Finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance, Valuation, and Risk Management in Luxembourg, the Vice President will co-lead the Risk Management team with a focus on:

Risk Management:

– Establishing and maintaining an effective risk management framework for managed funds.
– Implementing robust risk management procedures, policies, systems, and governance processes.
– Conducting due diligence on illiquid investment opportunities.

Compliance and Governance:

– Monitoring compliance with investment restrictions and collaborating with various departments.
– Ensuring a robust control environment for risk management matters.
– Coordinating and delivering high-quality risk management analysis and reporting to senior management and governing bodies.

Team Management:

– Co-managing the Risk team, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring effective operations.
– Coaching, developing, and leading the team for optimal performance.
– Participating in re-engineering initiatives, supporting new investment structures, and collaborating with the Technology department.

Qualifications & Skills:

– Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA, CAIA, FRM considered as assets).
– +10 years of relevant financial services industry experience, including prior experience in a Big 4 or similar, and within an AIFM or Management Company.
– Strong leadership skills with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience managing a team.
– In-depth knowledge of local regulatory requirements applicable to risk management.
– Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; strong technology aptitude.
– Fluent in English, both written and oral; proficiency in French is desirable.
– Superior communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
– Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and think strategically.
