Well established and highly reputable Insurance firm based in the City of London are seeking a driven and skilled FP&A Accountant to join their Group Function

The position offers extensive Business Partnering across the firm and opportunity to be heavily involved in the strategic planning cycles as well as wider Ad-Hoc Projects including an upcoming Business Planning System update. Due to the flat structure you will be working directly with the Underwriting, Actuarial & Strategy functions to provide key MI from a Finance perspective

This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong knowledge of Reinsurance, Lloyds Market Accounting or Wider Insurance seeking to make a bigger impact in a firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist the Group Finance Planning & Analysis manager in all aspects of the Group financial planning and forecasting processes, including legal entities
- Liaise with stakeholders to provide detailed analysis of variances against budget
- Liaise with underwriters on premium planning
- Continuous improvement in TM1 planning tool working closely with both in-house and 3rd party IT service providers
- Assist with preparation of Group Finance board materials including detailed financial analysis and reporting
- Development of an appropriate process and control framework for the FP&A function
- Development of key analysis models to help inform decision making

Key Skills

- 2-3 years post qualification experience; experience with (re)insurance accounting required
- At least 1 year of FP&A experience required, ideally within an insurance organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical underwriting as well as expense plans
- Proven knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Experience dealing directly with senior management and key stakeholders preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial data to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
