BRUIN are working with a Global Asset Manager who are seeking to recruit a Senior Professional to lead their EMEA & APAC International Tax agenda and implement appropriate policies within their territories. They are open to Senior Tax Lawyers or Tax Managers with previous financial services experience.

Working with the Global Tax function you will be the most senior representative in Europe and work to establish policies for any taxes and tax information reporting for all relevant jurisdictions, and will partner with operational areas to ensure they have developed and maintain procedures to effect those policies.

Review tax-related items in contracts with clients, service providers, and counterparties, (such as investment management agreements, distribution agreements, and custody contracts). Incumbent also reviews sponsored product tax disclosure applicable to the EMEA and APAC regions.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment and partnering skills, and strategic and critical thinking. Providing insight across a variety of cross-border tax issues affecting asset management funds and arrangements in EMEA and APAC and will serve as the primary tax contact for internal Legal and investment operations in EMEA and APAC.

Experience

• Chartered Accountant, CPA, LLB, LLM, JD or a Qualified Lawyer with a Tax background.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience, in either (1) global asset management firms, (2) global accounting or law firms, or (3) a combination of both
• Taxation of financial instruments, securities transactions, investors, or investment funds/products under the tax laws of foreign countries (primarily in EMEA and APAC). Hands-on experience in investment fund start-ups.
• Taxation of UK and foreign investment securities and UK and foreign investment funds/products.
• US FATCA, UK International Tax Compliance Regulations, and OECD Common Reporting Standard reporting and compliance.
