Our client, a Boutique Investment Bank, is recruiting a Legal Entity Controller, to permanently join their Canary wharf team. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting for Europe and Asia and ensuring the accuracy of monthly and yearly statutory financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
• The candidate will be responsible for 8 legal entities across Europe and Asia, with an aggregate turnover of US$100m reporting under US GAAP, IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS102).
• Provide assistance with annual budget/forecasting and regulatory deliverables (FRR, ICAAP, ILAA, Recovery Plan and Pilar 3 disclosures).
• Reporting for Senior Management including Head of Finance.
• Manage end-year audit and annual statutory filings, whilst also being a key liaison with external auditors.
• Monthly reporting of their responsible entities, ensuring deadlines are met and information is accurate.
• Partnering with Treasury and cash management to develop and evolve existing models Cash capital and Liquidity Reserves based on firms ILAA.
• Understand FX exposure in responsible entities, and help global management of the FX position across the group.
• Monitor regulatory impact of Intercompany balances, settlements and control breaks. Assist the Regulatory and Corporate Accounting teams where necessary.

Skills/ Competencies:
• Qualified Accountant, ideally with 2-3 year PQE in broking or trading organisation.
• Prior experience in legal entity / financial control position
• Control mentality, along with excellent accounting and analytical skills.
• Exposure to complex reporting issues. Demonstrable knowledge of consolidation accounting, impairment assessments and minority interest accounting.
• Understanding principles of UK regulatory reporting.
• Ability to evaluate issues and situations and make decisions with little need for upward reference.
• Maturity and credibility to deal with brokers/traders and senior management.
