BRUIN Financial are working with a Canary Wharf based Ratings agency who are looking to recruit an Analyst to work within their Insurance team - you will be taking the lead in analysing market data across the sector and providing internal & external communication around trends and potential market impacts.

The job holder will be a key component to strengthen our Insurance information and proposition, and will be highly influential in helping to shape the firms future direction, to meet the needs of clients for high quality, complete, accurate and timely data. The role involves close collaboration with the Senior Insurance Specialist and the Head of Banking and Insurance.

• Analysing financial data - to interpret and “spread” financial data from annual or periodical reports into the database
• Policy decisions - to provide instruction and advice on the placing of key financial data items in balance sheets and income statements, also contributing towards best practice documents
• External communication - required to attend meetings with strategic partners and clients, either on the phone or face-to-face
• Management reports - generate statistical reports for management as required
• Quality Assurance - performing assurance checks on the quality of the data input of our outsource partners, making corrections where necessary
• Internal communication - the ability to liaise with ratings analysts on financial data decisions and queries
• Queries - deal with any queries as part of a team
• Making recommendations on improvements to the data capture process
• Assist with the implementation of quality improvement and assurance processes


• Experience of working with Insurance fundamental data, in accountancy, actuarial or auditing environment
• Proven experience of interacting effectively with senior management
• Strong Excel manipulation skills a requirement, with SQL programming a non-essential benefit
