Head of Electronic Trading Risk sought by leading Investment Bank to join their London office.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are:
• Real-time monitoring of intraday exposures, breach escalation and change control
• Coordinating across functions to fulfil the Risk obligations as required under MIFID II including work around the annual assessment of the algorithmic trading operations, contributing MI for presentation to the Algorithmic Trading Governance Committee, and working with key stakeholders for expedient resolution of any control deficiencies identified
• Documentation, design, implementation and assessment of controls required for the effective governance of risk (process, technical, coding & financial) on the electronic trading desks
• Approval and development of market and credit limits
• Review of kill switches and trading termination procedures
• Involvement in the algo pre-deployment process, providing challenge to ensure risk is assessed and tested
• Working within the Model Validation Standards to ensure QA of algo strategies
• Enhancing monitoring systems and processes, taking part in projects as required.
• Keep up with the latest developments in products, markets, models, risk management practices and industry standards for electronic trading

Skills/ Experience Required

• Educated to degree level ideally in a quantitative or finance-related discipline
• Previous experience with algorithmic trading either in a risk control, compliance, FO IT or trading function
• Good communication, presentational, and stakeholder management skills
• Working and contributing within a team environment
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing and ever evolving environment
• Ability to work independently and assume responsibility for project deliverables

• Quantitative postgraduate qualifications
• Deep understanding of cross-asset automated trading systems and strategies such as transaction cost analysis, dark order execution, order placement,
