Leading Ratings Agency seeking an Analyst to join their NBFI team in London.
Key responsibilities
• Contribute to the group’s core collective objective of maintaining and assigning high quality, timely and prospective ratings to investment funds (notably money market funds), investment managers and other NBFI issuers.
• Conduct periodic monitoring of rated entities, including the analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors, identification of trends and outliers, and the preparation of rating committee documentation.
• Participation in on-site rating meetings and credit rating committees for funds, investment managers and other NBFI sectors in the EMEA and other regions.
• Enhance and develop tools to support the rating analysis, monitoring and reporting processes using Excel, VBA and other programming languages
• Follow market developments and contribute to topical industry research reports
Skills/ Experience required
• Strong educational background (2:1, or equivalent) which is relevant to the role or provided skills which are demonstrably transferable to this role.
• Analytical work experience from an investment management-, audit- or credit risk-related role
• Demonstrable interest in the investment management industry.
• Strong numerical / data management skills.
• A high level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
• Able to write macros in VBA.
• Experience in analysing one or several of the firm’s NBFI sectors (investment managers, finance companies, securities firms or financial market infrastructure companies) and/or experience in leveraged finance credit analysis
• Intermediate to advanced VBA skills
• Experience of using Bloomberg
• Other programming skills eg SQL, Python, C++
• Background knowledge of the investment management industry
• Willingness to study towards / progress made towards the CFA
