Global Asset Manager seeking a Fixed income Portfolio Construction & Risk Analyst to join their London office.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the head of the department with establishing and continuously enhancing the risk advisory capabilities of the team. This will involve helping with portfolio construction questions and evolving how risk is managed and communicated in an ever-changing market and evolving fund range
• Input into key investment risk oversight forums and participation in portfolio manager QFRs and the preparation of materials (such as portfolio case studies, evolution of risk metrics key points from QFRs)
• Liaise with oversight teams in the case of any risk breaches and resulting plans and actions
• To maintain highly effective working relationships with portfolio managers, investment directors and all other key internal stakeholders (for example the heads of Investment Risk oversight and portfolio construction teams in other asset classes)

Experience and Qualifications Required

• Demonstrable risk expertise within an asset management or financial services firm or strong fixed income product knowledge
• Understanding of the key aspects of portfolio construction (ideally for Fixed Income funds)
• The ability to work independently, with limited management supervision and to tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with portfolio managers, CIO and across senior management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution focused mindset
• Dedicated to maintaining high standards including attention to detail
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Expert skills in Excel
• Excellent general IT skills, specifically Python and VBA
• Ideally a good knowledge of third-party risk models such as Barra, Bloomberg PORT, Riskmetrics etc
