Our client, a leading global full-service bank, is looking for a hard working and driven individual to join Compliance division as their Data Protection Officer in their London office

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Evaluating and escalating compliance risks and deficiencies against UK privacy requirements
• Identify systemic issues through executing the firms Compliance Monitoring Plan
• Providing proactive 2nd line of advice and support to the privacy policy framework and the business operations, including awareness activities and training
• Providing a 2nd line of oversight of 1st line remedial actions agreed as part of Personal Data Breach response plans
• Participating and giving advice and support, as required in accordance with the Bank’s Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) process, when DPIAs are undertaken
• Being responsible for internal reporting of compliance issues relating to UK data protection law
• Reporting to, interacting with, and being the contact point for, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and managing the Bank’s UK data controller registrations with the ICO
• Reporting relevant Personal Data Breaches to the ICO, local management and to the Group DPO
• Providing regulatory guidance when necessary to the Compliance function’s IT & Infrastructure team
• Be involved in other compliance related activities at a senior level
• Representing the bank on local industry forums, and supporting responses to the media

REQUIRMENTS
• Have practical experience of UK data protection law (e.g. DPA, PECR, GDPR, Lawful Business Practice Regulations) and regulatory codes of practice in financial services
• An individual with excellent communication skills and knowledge of retail banking products and operations
• Be able to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects
• Ability to interact confidently with all areas of business, including Senior
Management and product owners
• Able to influence decision making to surface and mitigate issues and risks across a wide
network of stake
