Legal Analyst – Investments


DEPARTMENT: Investments – Investment Structuring Team

JOB TYPE: Permanent/ Full-Time

WFH: Flexible working policy


SALARY: £35,000 – £42,000


Purpose of Position


The Legal Analyst will be an integral member of the Investment Structuring Team for an international investor (private equity).


The team is responsible for the closing of all investments across the platform including primary fund investments, secondary transactions, and investments across Private Equity, real assets investments, and credit.


The successful applicant will support transactions including AML/ KYC Closing notices, Corporate Actions, and NDAs.


The ideal candidate will have a legal background and who is interested in working in a commercial role with an interest in investment and business development.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supporting transaction completion with a focus on primary fund investments
  • Completing NDAs
  • AML/KYC checks
  • Setting up SPVs
  • Coordinating relevant approvals and signatures
  • Completing legal checklists required for investment completion and investment restriction checks
  • Completing closing notices and coordinating with Pantheon’s operations and finance teams on money transfers
  • Assisting with fund sales execution
  • Maintaining and ensuring accuracy of CRM database


Knowledge and Experience Required


  • Provide a high degree of accuracy in work completed
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and judgment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • PC literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively and efficiently
  • Prior experience of working in a legal/compliance and/or transaction execution role would be beneficial however, not essential.


Professional Qualifications


  • A-Level (or Equivalent): A-B grades required at A-level, or their equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree: Degree required preferably in finance, commerce, legal, law or business related
  • Post graduate experience: Masters or post graduate legal qualification, or legal training / prior work experience in a law firm would be preferred, but not required
