Job Title: Fund Controller

Job Description

Our client is a global investment management company seeking a Fund Controller to join their Luxembourg office. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for all management and financial accounting and reporting of assigned funds and their subsidiaries, provide financial analysis to non-financial colleagues and manage accountants

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure production of timely and accurate consolidated quarterly financial reports for 2 or 3 real estate funds (including IFRS  adjustments, deferred tax and revaluation of financial instruments
  • Validation of quarterly accounts of the Luxembourg and non-Luxembourg subsidiaries in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures) with in-depth analysis and commentary
  • Ensure production of timely and accurate consolidated annual reports
  • Oversee production of annual statutory accounts for Luxembourg and overseas subsidiaries
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information
  • Monitor and supporting taxation issues
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time, including various ad hoc projects

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar position, including experience of providing Financial Control across a group of companies
  • A minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience preferably gained within the real estate sector
  • Sound and up to date knowledge of Lux GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of auditing and practices and principles
  • Knowledge of local corporate and VAT taxation requirements
  • IFRS Consolidation
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and Yardi (real estate accounting software)
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information
  • Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing task
  • Task and goal oriented and capable of functioning in an entrepreneurial and corporate setting
  • Experience supervising a team (desirable)
  • Fluent in English – German or French would be seen as an asset Formal Education
  • University degree Accounting or equivalent
