Capital Analyst – A fantastic opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Capital analyst to join a dynamic team reporting to the Capital manager. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in capital modelling and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.
Based within the Capital Team, you will provide support to the actuarial team in the operation, development, and maintenance of the internal model, including statutory and regulatory requirements. This includes running, parameterising, reporting, and supporting the validation of the internal model. To assist in embedding the internal model within the business and ensure that the processes and procedures around the model are compliant with the tests and standards of Solvency II, PRA, and Lloyd’s.
In addition, the role includes providing technical support to the broader objectives of the Actuarial and Risk Functions in areas such as reporting, risk, reserving, and pricing.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Model development work to ensure that the internal model remains accurate and compliant with the tests and standards of Solvency II. Development work may require a build of smaller test models as proof of concept for changes with a view to embedding within the internal model.
Support the Exposure Management team in modelling and review of Catastrophe losses net of reinsurance.
- Collaborate with Bermuda and US actuarial teams in Group-wide actuarial objectives.
- Data manipulation for use in the wider internal model including the model parameterisation processes, ensuring all data feeds to the internal model is accurate and auditable.
- Involvement in technical actuarial activities including reserving and pricing support as required.
- ReMetrica experience is an advantage
- Relevant actuarial experience (in capital and/or validation), ideally in Lloyd’s and London Market
- Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Good knowledge of Solvency II requirements
