Risk & Capital Analyst

Bruin are working on behalf of our client who is a global reinsurer (P&C) with a London market presence. This is a uniquely positioned commercial role. It will allow the successful applicant a rare opportunity to develop in quantitative risk, ORSA and capital branches of Actuarial. It’s equally important for applicants to enjoy building and maintaining internal relationships, as this role has excellent exposure across the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the validation of the Syndicate’s Internal Model, by carrying out annual and targeted testing of modelled risks (Underwriting, Reserving, Market, Credit & Operational).
  • Work closely with the Capital Modelling team to advise on the appropriateness of model changes and interrogate model output.
  • Assist with the production of quarterly ORSA updates, including risk appetite monitoring, and ultimately annual ORSA reports.
  • Support the completion of regulatory and rating agency capital model submissions, such as the Solvency II Standard Formula.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor/Master’s in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related discipline. You may be a recent graduate
  • Strong numerical and statistical capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of data
  • Proactive, with a strong desire to learn
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and self-motivation
