Underwriting Manager – Terrorism Facility (Hybrid)

We are working with a leading global insurance Broking to recruit an Underwriting Manager for a specialist facility focused on small-ticket terrorism risks. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a growing book of business, with international scope and strong backing from a leading carrier.

The Facility

  • Delegated underwriting authority, established ~6 years ago, with consistent year-on-year growth (10–15%).

  • Current premium volume of c. $3m across 300 policies, with strong potential to scale.

  • Backed by a major global insurer committed to supporting further growth, particularly across the EU and international markets.

The Role

  • Underwriting: Manage day-to-day underwriting within agreed parameters (referrals to carrier where required).

  • Business Development: Represent the facility to brokers across the UK, EU, US, and Canada. Build relationships, market the product, and drive growth opportunities.

  • Leadership: Manage and mentor one existing underwriter, ensuring effective workflow and high standards of delivery.

  • Strategy: Analyse international terrorism portfolios and identify opportunities for expansion. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute growth plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in terrorism or property underwriting, or strong terrorism broking knowledge with the confidence to transition into underwriting.

  • Commercial, self-sufficient, and confident building broker relationships.

  • Comfortable with occasional international travel.

  • People management experience desirable, though strong leadership potential will also be considered.
