About the Role:

In the position, you will take sole responsibility for the smooth end-to-end management of the execution of bilateral loans and participation. You will manage all aspects of the execution process on a largely independent and unsupervised basis, with a clear understanding of which issues require escalation to more senior team members. The role requires a solid understanding of the loan capital markets including syndication strategy and risk distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing documentation against internal policies and current market standards to ensure its robustness from a credit and risk perspective.
  • Support the wider LCM team to increase liquidity as part of effective portfolio management.

  • Provide support and solution-driven advice to Front Office and Credit Department colleagues on all aspects of the current European syndicated loan market.
  • Anticipate potential documentation issues specific to a borrower or resulting from external macroeconomic or political factors.

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Legal degree or similar qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Familiar with LMA investment grade and developing market-recommended forms of documentation.
  • Confident in the negotiation of all key commercial provisions of syndicated loan documentation to minimise documentation risk and improve documentation standards.
  • Detailed understanding of LMA templates and basic supporting loan documentation gained either in a financial institution or law firm.
  • Excellent negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent current knowledge of the European loan market including relevant legal and regulatory matters.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload.
  • The ability to manage your own time, operate independently and work efficiently and accurately is crucial to the role.

Our ambition is simple – to do our best for our people, clients and communities.

We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond – this starts with hiring the best talent without consideration of race, religion, colour, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status or disability.

Bruin recognises the positive value of diversity, and aims to promote equality and challenge unfair discrimination. As a champion of equal opportunity employment we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons – men and women, people of all ages, sexual orientations, nationalities, religions and beliefs. We particularly encourage applications from women, disabled, and Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as these groups are underrepresented throughout the financial services industry.
