Job Opportunity: Technical & Operational Support Analyst – Syndicate Underwriting Team

 

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic underwriting team within the Lloyd’s market? We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to provide technical and operational support to our Syndicate Underwriting teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate monitoring, reporting, and processing of key policy data, while contributing to the enhancement of policy data quality.

 

Main Purpose of the Job:

 

As a Technical & Operational Support Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting the Syndicate Underwriting teams with the analysis and processing of policy data. Your efforts will directly contribute to the accurate monitoring and reporting of premium data, as well as the continued improvement of data quality across all Syndicate teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the Syndicate platform and Underwriting teams in processing bureau market messaging data, ensuring the accurate monitoring of outstanding premiums.
  • Assist with the credit control process, reviewing data and resolving queries within the Policy Admin System.
  • Contribute to the reconciliation of premium settlements for Consortia and other facilities.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting teams and stakeholders to monitor and improve data quality.
  • Aid the Finance and Underwriting teams with tasks that support the monthly close process.
  • Provide regular Management Information (MI) reporting to stakeholders, ensuring accurate premium monitoring.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory returns (e.g. Lloyd’s PMD).
  • Address and action Lloyd’s Insurance Company (LIC) bureau queries.
  • Help clear underwriting Data Validations and maintain operational procedures.
  • Contribute to the overall Syndicate operating model as needed.

 

Key Personal Skills:

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Office 365.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with various teams to achieve common goals.

 

Key Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Some experience in the Lloyd’s market and an understanding of bureau messaging.
  • Understanding of Syndicate underwriting models and reporting.
  • Progressing towards a professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII).
  • Familiarity with in-house Underwriting Systems.
  • Good working knowledge of Policy Administration Systems.
