Role Overview:
Our client is looking for someone to join their team  on a 12-Month Contract and help shape policies and controls in a changing business environment. As a Treasury Accountant, you'll manage a small team responsible for a specific business unit and other departmental tasks. Your role includes reporting, control activities, and cross-departmental reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation Oversight: Ensure that the accounting reconciliation process for the business unit complies with AORP policy and Risk policies control objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help improve reporting standards and efficiency within the department.
  • Accounting Expertise: Implement accounting processes to accurately represent assets, liabilities, and profit & loss, following regulatory standards.
  • Reporting Excellence: Submit Treasury Packs to Group Reporting promptly and map the TB to FCCS codes accurately.
  • Collaboration: Work with System Development teams to facilitate changes, system improvements, and establish processes and controls for new business activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • In-Depth Knowledge: Understand treasury and wholesale products and services, including cash and funding instruments, derivatives, and bonds.
  • Accounting Qualification: Hold a full accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent.
  • Market Understanding: Grasp key drivers of wholesale markets profit & loss and balance sheet movements.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a Treasury Finance/Product Control function or Market Risk function.
  • IT Proficiency: Including front office booking systems and Microsoft products, particularly Excel (Desirable).
  • Team Management: Understand financial instruments accounting and have experience managing a small team, with the ability to make departmental decisions (Desirable).
