BRUIN wins Deloitte Diversity & Inclusion Award

On 15th October 2019, CEOs and senior executives from the industry’s top recruitment companies came together to celebrate excellence, innovation and growth at a black-tie Gala Dinner at The Brewery in London.

The TIARAs exclusively recognise companies featured in TALiNT International’s annual Top UK Recruiters Report, which have a UK net fee income of at least £5 million. This represents only 6% of the UK’s c40,000 recruitment firms.

BRUIN Financial were proud recipients of the Deloitte Diversity & Inclusion Award, which recognises the commercial and cultural impact of policies and initiatives to promote greater diversity and inclusion for their employees, clients and candidates.

This award reflects their exceptional understanding of diversity and inclusiveness beyond the expected norm, processes for enhancing inclusion through positive communication between different groups and backgrounds and their efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

The TIARA awards were judged by an panel of industry leaders, advisors and senior executives including Asif Sadiq, Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging at The Telegraph, Carly Perry, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at Metro Bank, Sohail Ahmad, M&A Team Director at Deloitte and Hugo Plowman, Partner at Mishcon De Reya.

In particular, BRUIN were commended by the judges who were “extremely impressed by the inventive ways BRUIN had incorporated D&I initiatives into their recruitment process, the broad range of diversity & inclusion initiatives they are involved with, and the high level of visibility in their market”.

Amongst the initiatives that contributed to BRUIN’s award win, includes their Women in Financial Institutions Index (WiFI) report which measures the engagement and representation of women in financial services; BRUIN’s proprietary gender bias advert decoder, and the provision of client workshops and training seminars on diverse talent management including ethnicity, mental health and social mobility.

BRUIN is also represented on the steering committee of The Diversity Project, an initiative led by representatives from the investment and savings industries’ biggest institutions, who have come together to solve diversity levels in the industry ‘once and for all’, are a founding member of InterInvest, an investment industry led initiative that focuses specifically on LGBT+ diversity and inclusion, and partner with the Social Mobility Foundation to provide mentoring and training to disadvantaged young people.
