Usually the Top Billers lunch is set in a swanky restaurant; previous venues have included The Ivy, Coq D’Argent, Balthazar and City institution The Bleeding Heart.
This time round the Consultants were in for a surprise as they were asked to cook their own lunch… albeit under the guidance of some of London’s top chefs.
L’Atelier des Chef, one of the largest cookery schools in the UK is a stone’s throw from the BRUIN office by St Paul’s Cathedral and was founded in Paris in 2004 by Nicolas and Francois Bergerault. Catering for both kitchen novices and cooking enthusiasts, their classes include recipes from Moroccan and French cuisine, and a range of specialist classes from macaroon to sushi making.
The Consultants learned how to cook a 3 course menu of seared scallops and mussels to start, a herb crusted rack of lamb for main, finished off with a chocolate and almond torte for dessert.
The resident Chefs were also on hand to give advice on wine pairing, which was enthusiastically taken, before the afternoon finished off on Madison roof terrace.
