Our client, a Financial Services organisation, are currently looking for a Finance Control Manager to join their offices based in Manchester on an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract, with a move into another role in the business after this period is completed.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to fully manage the Financial Control systems and also to drive improvements in the internal processes, governance and controls.
Key duties include:
Managing the performance of the team using specific performance management processes, including performance reviews, 1-2-1s, disciplinary and capability procedures.
Ensuring adequate controls are in place for charging fees across the business, meeting the auditors requirements.
Ensuring there are adequate credit control policies and processes in place for all the products within the Group.
Ensuring discrepancies between fee scripts and control reports are identified, reviewed and corrective action is taken where necessary.
Communicating information in a timely and professional manner, as well as ensuring employee feedback is passed to senior management.
Organising and planning the use of all resources to ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective completion of all work.
Identifying, controlling and managing risks within own business area or others as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will be a Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant and will have previous Financial Services experience, commercial and reporting knowledge, previous management experience along with a working knowledge of Financial Controls. Strong communication and organisation skills are also required as a key aspect of this role requires overseeing the team, their performance and other departmental processes.
