Risk Manager sought my British Bank to join their dynamic team in London.
Key responsibilities
Support the Senior Manager and Enterprise Risk Directors in the following:
•Day-to-day interactions between Risk & Compliance, product areas, and the Bank’s Finance and Strategy teams
•Undertake periodic stress tests to quantify the Bank’s downside credit and investment losses from the impact of macroeconomic and historical downside scenarios and monitor against risk appetite
•Support scenario modelling, stress tests and break-even analysis on various programmes/investments
•Carry out periodic assessment of the risk profile of programmes/investments and undertake risk impact analysis on significant portfolio movements or new business requirements e.g. new products
•Maintain the model governance inventory to evaluate efficacy of existing models and processes, and provide support in model validation requirements
•Support development of quantitative analysis and modelling capabilities across all risk categories e.g. foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk, operational risk

Knowledge and experience
•Degree qualified or equivalent (ideally 2:1 or above / 3.2 GPA or above) in a quantitative field e.g. accounting, statistics, economics or quantitative finance; or recent experience in a quantitative role
•Experience within a Risk function of a financial services company, or a ratings agency, preferably with exposure to quantitative risk management and stress testing
•A good understanding of financial products and solutions, securitisations, portfolio analysis and modelling techniques and probability of default and loss given default models
•Additional professional qualifications (FRM, CFA, CISI Diploma, IMC, ACA, ACCA or CIMA), a relevant Master’s degree or formal risk/credit training would be beneficial though not a prerequisite
•Strong technical knowledge of MS office suite, particularly Excel. Working knowledge and experience of VBA programming would be beneficial.
