Leading Asset Manager seeking a Risk Assurance Analyst to join their London Office

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally (e.g. external auditors)
• Undertake on-going independent testing (walk-throughs and re-performance) of operational risk key controls (CSCs) in line with the testing plans; facilitate on-going partnering with the business to support testing work
• Provide independent assurance of compliance with policies
• Deliver the AAF Internal Controls Report, SOX and Senior Accounting Officer testing requirements; this involves facilitation of the annual SOX documentation refresh, and liaison with Management and External Auditors to deliver SOX testing
• Undertake thematic reviews on risk issues across the business as required
• Implement a deficiency management and reporting process
• Provide appropriate operational risk support to the business as may be required.

Skills/ Experience required

• Degree qualified or equivalent.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. IRM Diploma in Risk Management, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, IIA) would be ideal but not essential for this role.
• Background in control, risk or audit environment together with a practical understanding of control design and implantation.
• You must be pragmatic in both analytical thinking and a critical evaluator of information/issues.
• A good knowledge of Operational Risk Frameworks and experience of undertaking/facilitating Risk and Control Assessments.
• It is essential for you to have excellent written, communication and influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Experience of developing and delivering assurance/audits/compliance monitoring or thematic reviews(desirable)
• experience in SOX, AAF/SOC1/SAS 70 and an appreciation of client, shareholder, regulatory, and corporate governance perspectives on risk (desirable)
