Credit Analyst- Director
Director level Credit Analyst sought in the EMEA Natural Resources & Commodities function of a leading credit ratings provider.
As a Director in the EMEA Natural Resources & Commodities team you will
Have primary analytical responsibility for a portfolio of corporate issuers in the mining and steel sectors.
Monitor and analyse company news flow and financial results to identify events or trends which may lead to rating changes.
Conduct review meetings with company management (typically at the Head of Treasury, CFO or higher level).
Present to, and discuss recommendations for new ratings or rating changes with internal rating committees as well as communicating Fitchs credit opinions externally.
Be involved with, and ideally initiate, ad-hoc sector commentaries and topical research.
Provide some analytical support to business development activities, as well as interaction with issuers, investors and bankers.
The role will also involve some, but not an excessive level, of travel,
Qualifications and experience:
Desirable qualities for this role include:
A strong understanding of, or interest in, the mining, steel and natural resources sectors.
Strong credit and analytical skills evidenced by past experience in an analytical or credit role.
Past experience of clear and logical decision making in a credit or accounting role.
A strong team spirit, enabling him/her to work seamlessly with other members of the EMEA team. Experience in mentoring and developing junior analysts would also be important for this role.
Solid written and verbal communication skills in English. Other language skills would be helpful.
Cash-flow modelling and accounting skills
A first rate academic background in a finance-related field. Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA) would be an advantage.
