Our top tier client, a leading financial services firm, is seeking a Deputy Head of Financial Crime Investigations professional to join their team based in Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be joining the Financial Crime Investigations team and will be responsible for managing a growing team focused on the lifecycle of financial crime investigations. You may be required to assist in direction, co-ordination and conduct of special investigations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and supporting team managers responsible for alert investigations, case investigations and case resolutions
• Ensuring a thorough succession plan is in place for all direct reports
• Ensuring all Financial Crime personnel are sufficiently trained to fulfil their roles and receive regular ongoing training as necessary
• Co-ordinating and overseeing the preparation and submission of all management information and briefing packs for stakeholders, senior management and board members
• Ensuring that all applicable policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated

Role Requirements:

• Relevant experience in FC, with strong experience in the management of FCI including transaction monitoring, case investigations and resolution
• Expert level of knowledge of criminal taxonomies applicable to money laundering and terrorist financing and their application to AFC and FCI
• Demonstrable experience in planning and managing complex investigations of a sensitive nature
• Educated to Bachelor’s degree level (or equivalent)
